Mortgage Finance Company Chooses SOX-XL for
Spreadsheet Controls.
July 24, 2006: CIMCON Software,

has chosen and implemented its SOX-XL
Spreadsheet Solution to implement
spreadsheet controls.
SOX-XL implements security, cell-level
auditing and accountability for
spreadsheets. Multiple security mechanisms
include secure, role-based access to Excel
spreadsheets such that only authorized users
can make changes to financial data. Cell
level audit trails track all changes to
data. Based on a review of the audit trail,
supervisors and managers at the workgroup,
department, site or division level can
certify each sub-process and the validity of
data using role-based electronic signatures.
These signatures are then rolled up to the
officers of the firm to greatly ease their
task of certifying financial reports and
procedures. Collectively, these controls
close the compliance loop and aid in
certification of internal controls by both
management as well as external auditors.
