Announces New Release of its Market Leading
SOX-XL Spreadsheet Compliance Solution
June 1, 2007: CIMCON Software,
Inc., the pioneering market leader in

announced the latest release of its leading
SOX-XL Spreadsheet Compliance solution. The
new release is available now and already
shipping to customers.
CIMCON’s industry-leading SOX-XL solution
provides spreadsheet controls and compliance
to meet Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
for internal controls for key financial
reporting processes. SOX-XL implements
internal controls such as cell-level audit
trails, security, and accountability. Cell
level audit trails track all changes to
spreadsheet formulas and other critical
data. Multiple security mechanisms include
secure, role-based access to spreadsheets
such that only authorized users can make
changes to financial data. Based on a review
of the audit trail, supervisors and managers
can certify each sub-process and the
validity of data using role-based electronic
signatures. These signatures are then rolled
up to the officers of the firm to greatly
ease their task of certifying financial
reports and procedures. Collectively, these
controls close the compliance loop and aid
in certification of internal controls by
both management as well as external
auditors.
The new SOX-XL release includes a better
and seamless end-user experience, enhanced
audit trail management, improved reporting,
collaboration and workflow, enhanced email
notifications, improved configuration
capabilities, and a host of other
enhancements. A majority of the changes were
driven by user feedback and requests from
CIMCON’s large customer base of over 150
customers. The new release leverages SOX-XL’s
proven and mature compliance platform and a
5 year history of use providing current and
future customers with the assurance of
preserving their technology investment for
the long term.
